Doug joined Callaway Partners in 2007. He comes to Callaway from Deloitte & Touche, where he was responsible for managing relationships with a number of Deloitte’s strategic non-attest clients. In his role, he led cross-functional teams of professionals from areas of tax, internal audit, information technology, human resources, strategic and operational consulting, valuation, and risk. Doug led these teams to focus on industry and client specific issues and work with client executives to develop cross-functional solutions. His ability to address these client issues across business areas delivers services with maximum benefit in a cost and time efficient manner.
Prior to Deloitte, Doug was with Arthur Andersen’s Atlanta office where he started as a tax professional. He assisted clients with structuring transactions to minimize State and Local taxes. He was also responsible for the development of the Value-Added Tax practice for the Southeast Region. After the development of the VAT practice, Doug took a role as a Business Developer, tasked with growing Arthur Andersen’s southeastern marketshare in the areas of attest, tax, internal audit and risk, human capital and business consulting.
Before joining Arthur Andersen, Doug worked with General Electric where he was an internal tax consultant to the Medical Systems, Electrical Distribution & Supply, and Aerospace business units. In his role he had responsibility for tax compliance and planning, tax accounting, transactional structuring, and audit defense and negotiation.
Doug is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration; he majored in finance.
Doug serves on the Board of Directors of Alpha Kappa Psi, the world’s largest global professional business fraternity.
