Two-Day Seminar to Focus
on Internal Control Requirements
ATLANTA, GA - July 21, 2003
- The Sarbanes-Oxley Act has been referred to
as the most sweeping legislation affecting accounting,
disclosure and corporate governance in history.
Its aim is to improve investor confidence -- but
what are the managerial implications and how will
the new push toward corporate responsibility affect
overall management strategy?
In an effort to help business leaders navigate
the President's new Corporate Reform Agenda, the
Robinson College of Business has partnered with
area firms to create a two-day seminar specifically
geared towards educating CFO?s, controllers and
auditors on the new internal control guidelines
as defined by Section 404 within the Sarbanes-Oxley
Act.
In addition to faculty from Robinson?s School
of Accountancy, speakers and instructors will
include representatives from the SEC, the Auditing
Standards Board and the legal and accounting industries.
